The Manly Gallery - Janice Quinn
About Janice Quinn
LAMPWORKING - Janice creates unique, handcrafted beads, one at a time, using the flame of a torch and coloured glass rods from Italy. Depth of design comes from placing many layers of molten glass over the other; the same process is used for decorating the bead. The bead can be further enhanced with the addition of silver/gold foil, silver wire, powdered copper, etc. Beads have been properly annealed assuring longevity. Each piece is an original - no two beads are ever the same.
THE ARTIST - Janice is a Brisbane, Australia resident who started lampworking in 2004, applying the principles (colour, shape, texture, pattern) acquired in previous artistic endeavours (pottery, painting, needlework). She has been tutored by world class bead artist, Corina Tettinger, author of 'Passing the Flame.'
THE JEWELLERY - The glass beads have been combined with quality Balinese sterling silver fittings, Swarovski and/or Czech crystals. Silver and glass can be cleaned with jewellery cleaner. Lifetime warranty if due care taken.
